Casino Baccarat
If you are a movie freak then, you must have heard or seen a game called baccarat on the silver screen but probably haven’t seen in person if you are not fond of visiting casinos.
Baccarat is a casino game. It is popular with the rich and the famous.
It is a prestigious and elegant game and is quite famous all over the world. You might have heard it very often if you are regular casino goers but, if you are not then you must not be much aware of about the game. Long before you were legally or financially fit to play this game but now you could catch it in a James bond movie. This game was invented by none other than an Italian. He invented it for the rich and famous to play. In the fifteenth century it was introduced in the French court. South America brought baccarat to the US. The bets are really high in the game that is why the rich people enjoy playing this game.
You will always find this game placed away from all other games with a quiet crowd and well guarded and roped off from the rest of the other common games because only those people could play who have lots and lots of cash with them. This is not really an ordinary men’s game!
There are four types of baccarat :
baccarat chemin de fer, European baccarat, baccarat banque and punto banco or American baccarat.

You can play the game with either six or more, twelve is the maximum amount of players you can have.
The rules are the same for each type of baccarat so it is easy to learn the game.
There are two types of baccarat tables, mini-table or the normal table. Only a few people can be seated on the mini table. The mini table has markings on it.
The bets are indicated by three very important terms : the tie, banker and player.
And the other is the big table where a lot of people can be seated. But the rules apply the same for both. One must always be familiar with the hierarchy of cards in the game, in order to play this game.
Picture cards do not have any value while aces have been assigned the value of either ten or one.
The number on the two cards needs to be added. The first digit is dropped, if the sum receive is greater than ten. If the sum is greater than ten then the first digit is dropped. The maximum value one can have in hand at any given time is nine. So, nine is the maximum value that one can have in a hand.
The game offers you three options, either the banker wins, or the player wins or it is a tie between the player and the banker. One must be aware of the probabilities of winning this game. There is always a greater chance of a tie which is very often in the game. Often the probabilities vary depending upon the order of the drawing cards or the number of decks used.
Casinos always have a greater advantage than the players.
The game requires three people distributing the cards and four or more rounds of betting.
The dealer at the casino mixes up the cards and the main dealer puts the cards in the shoe.
The shoe then circulates anticlockwise on the table. The cards are distributed by the dealer only after the bets have been placed. The main dealer places four cards, none of them are revealed. The person who has quoted the biggest amount in the bet gets the first chance to see the cards. Whoever gets a sum of nine or eight, wins the game. A tie occurs when players have similar cards. To win the game, you need to aim at getting a sum closest to nine. So, this cannot be considered as a very easy game and needs really a big amount of cash. So, you actually need to think a lot before playing it...
